  • Say Goodbye to Gallstones. Women who drank four to six cups of caffeinated coffee daily over the course of 20 years were one-fourth less likely to need gallstone-related gallbladder surgery. That translates into many fewer surgeries, since gallbladder surgery is one of the most common operations in the United States.
  • Get the Drop on Diabetes. Sipping on either regular or decaf may slash your risk of type 2 diabetes by making your body more sensitive to insulin and improving your glucose tolerance.  Both men and women seem to benefit, and the more coffee you drink, the lower your risk drops. People who enjoyed four or more cups a day were substantially less likely to develop diabetes.
  • Guard Against Liver Cancer. In a study of over 60,000 people, the more coffee they  drank, the lower their risk of liver cancer. Those who drank two to three cups a day cut their chances by one- third; four to five cups, by almost a half; and six to seven cups, by nearly two-thirds.
