Relieve Pain with an Autumn Snack!

RSS

Instead of popping a pain pill, try popping a handful of pumpkin seeds! This tasty snack is jam-packed with magnesium, a mineral that may battle fibromyalgia pain.

An ounce of roasted pumpkin seeds provides 156 milligrams(mg) of magnesium. That’s a lot considering senior women should get 320 mg a day, while men require 420 mg.

Researchers found that giving folks with fibromyalgia supplements of magnesium along with malic acid (a natural substance found in some fruits) helped reduce their pain and tenderness! The supplements only contained 50 mg of magnesium, so when you eat pumpkin seeds, you’re getting triple that amount!

If you’re not a fan of roasting pumpkin seeds, you can also boil, microwave, or dehydrate these autumn favorites!
