Cantaloupe and Cookouts

A cool slice of cantaloupe on a hot July day is just the ticket for a tasty, healthy, snack or dessert.  They’re also one of those rare foods that not only taste great, but they’re good for you, too!

Cantaloupes are loaded with nutrients that are great for your eyesight, help control blood pressure, lower your cholesterol, and even boost your immune system!

And here’s a little trivia to share with friends and family as you enjoy your next slice:  The fruit we all think of as cantaloupe isn’t really a cantaloupe — it’s a muskmelon.  “Cantaloupe” actually refers to two different varieties of muskmelon, which are slightly different in taste and appearance.
